One Coat Stucco is also commonly known as hard coat stucco.

With the advent of one coat stucco in the 70's came a whole new meaning to the word "stucco" in residential construction.

One coat stucco is an alternative to regular stucco. It can be installed faster, in about 40% less time, meaning big dollar savings. Another primary benefit is that you can use a variety of substrates particularly EPS board which increases the R-values of sidewalls.

PLASTIC COMPONENTS was and continues to be the first to recognize the importance of this new product by offering a wide variety of starter TRACS, control joints, corner beads and other trim pieces. We lead the industry by offering a new generation of trims in both 3/8" and 1/2" grounds.

Product Description:
PVC accessories for modified stucco systems were developed by PLASTIC COMPONENTS, INC. Their purpose is to provide architects and contractors with a rust-free, damage resistant, economical alternative to aluminum galvanized accessories. These products are manufactured with high-impact resistant, lead free PVC and conform to ASTM standards D1784 and C1063. All products shall be third party tested to meet ASTM standard D4216-99 and be Canadian Code Compliant. All products are listed by ITS/Warnock Hersey.

Basic Use:
These accessories can be applied to ULTRA-LATH®, metal lath, masonry, wood base sheathing products, gypsum sheathing, cement sheathing products, block and any other approved substrate. They are designed to control expansion and contraction, trim, and protect the stucco. In addition PVC products will solve problems relating to static electricity, electrolysis, rust, oxidation, excessive dents or kinks and damage in transit or on the job site.

Installation should be in accordance with system manufacturer, accepted industry standards, and local building codes. Remember to caulk all butt joints, intersections and ends.

Weather Resistance:
Ultraviolet Sunlight: Plasticizers and similar chemicals which can migrate to the surface are not present in the PVC formulas used in the manufacturing of PLASTIC COMPONENTS, INC. products covered in this section.

Low Temperatures: All materials will gradually harden as temperatures change. PVC compounds used by PLASTIC COMPONENTS, INC. are formulated to withstand these changes.

Coefficient of Expansion and Contraction: PVC products are weaker than the materials to which they are attached and the plaster in which they are embedded. PLASTIC COMPONENTS, INC. products are designed with perforated flanges and “eyebrows” which provide positive bonding of stucco to the product and substrates to which they are attached. They become part of the building and will move with the wall, subsequently they are not free to express their coefficient of expansion or contraction.

Availability & Cost:
PLASTIC COMPONENTS, INC. products are generally lower in cost than aluminum and zinc products and will be competitive with most galvanized products. All products are available from regional warehouses which supply your local wholesale distributor.

A short form CSI specification is printed on each product sheet and a product description is included to assist you in the proper selection. A copy of the ASTM standard specification is available upon request.

PVC products have a built in resistance to damage and will return to their original shape when subjected to normal impact. There is no transmission of shock, which means damage is localized to the point of impact. Repairs can be made by returning the product to its original shape and reapplying finish to the damaged area. If cut, the product can be repaired with vinyl cement.

Caulking: Caulking materials bond very well to PVC products. Contact caulk manufacturer or Plastic Components, Inc. for specific recommendations. Painting: No special preparation necessary.

PLASTIC COMPONENTS, INC. warrants that the product contained herein as manufactured by PLASTIC COMPONENTS, INC., when properly applied and used in and for the manner which they are manufactured in accordance with ASTM standards D1784 and C1063 shall be free from defects and will perform as stated. PLASTIC COMPONENTS, INC. sole responsibility under this warranty shall be for replacement of material only and excluding any labor or installation cost, and for material that is manufactured by PLASTIC COMPONENTS, INC. which has been deemed defective through manufacturing only, and not product which has been damaged during installation, or improperly installed.
